Where Did Bluehawk Come From?

Bluehawk Optics is owned by two men from very different worlds. Jacob Stern is an engineer with a specialization in microscopes and lab equipment prototypes while Hunter McGruff is an ex navy seal that won numerous awards for courage and bravery while serving his country. The two met at a hunters land conservation conference. While Hunter was airing his grievances on the current optic market about most optics lacking quality or being wildly expensive. Jacob casually mentioned that he could make an affordable optic that performed on par with the leading brands. So Blue Hawke was born. Their best selling optic to date is the “Hawke-Eye” a red dot with a multi use reticle built to actually perform beyond a hundred yards in a tactical situation.

How Is Bluehawk Different?

Since Bluehawk Optics were designed by a microscope engineer their eye relief and depth of field is outstanding. The glass is a high light transition and uses a german secondary glass company that Jacob says is on par with the highest glass on the market.

Hunter ensured they are real world capable optics. Not something that is “tacti-cool” but an optic that he can trust on his most rugged missions.`Together they have created a truly unique optic brand that is very practical.

Where did Bluehawk Get Its Name?

Jacobs favourite color is blue. Hunters spirit animal is a hawk, he even sports a tattoo of a hawk on his forearm. It seemed like a no brainer the pair said.
